A Challenge, When Should We Respect Your Time?
RyanOD | August 7, 2009So…as an entrepreneur, when is your time worth planning? It’s been a hard road accepting that starting out you
shouldn’t expect people, customers especially, to respect your time. After all, when opportunity knocks you better be able to answer! However, I beg the question, when is my time worth planning and sticking to those plans? At what point am I successful and can say I planned something, whether business or pleasure, and I can stick to it without fear of loss? On a more spiritual side I say “what am I afraid of”? Isn’t fear an inhibiting emotion? I know I’m hitting you with a lot of questions to ponder, that’s the entrepreneur A.D.D. in me.
On one side I say we shouldn’t fear loss of opportunity and that life will take its course naturally as it should. After all, if we can’t make plans then our life is chaotic and too spontaneous. On the other, that’s crazy, opportunity isn’t supposed to come according to your plans and often times doesn’t. You don’t ignore it and in fact you should go out of your way to make it happen. FOR THE MONEY! I say that sarcastically because we know there is a happy medium, but where?
What kind of time is worth canceling?
Is family time always worth dropping and going to work?
Is one business obligation more important than another?
Let’s meet at 4:00pm on Friday to discuss it!
